Robotic Chariot
-speed without wheels
Challenge: Create a robot driven by any mechanism other than a wheel, which can pull a carriage as fast as possible. Courses would include a hill climb and a U-shaped, “Circus Maximus” course.
This was another collaborative project for my Robotics course. Our team opted for a drive system of Jansen Linkage legs. Using two pairs would keep our drive compact yet stable, and have a small drive differential when pivoted to turn. My role was design and fabrication of the Jansen Linkage propulsion. We elected to use Laser-cut acrylic as our primary material to keep the profile and weight low.
