About me
There is nothing quite as satisfying as the feeling when you step back to admire something that only exists in this world because you decided that it needed to exist. That feeling is compounded when the creation is of the highest quality because you poured your heart and soul into it. As a maker, I crave that feeling and want to help others feel that same satisfaction. As an engineer, I have the skills to make it happen.
I graduated from Bowdoin College in 2015, where I studied physics with a minor in mathematics. Choosing to continue my education in a field more aligned with my inherent skills, I left my home state of Maine and moved to Boston. Now, having just earned my Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, I am excited to put my design and making skills to work. I am hoping to join a dedicated team designing novel hardware systems so that I can leverage my CAD skills and mechanical aptitude while also learning from experienced professionals.
During my time at Tufts, I took advantage of the resources which I had not previously had exposure to; I familiarized myself with SolidWorks for CAD drafting and achieved my CSWA; I worked with ASME drawing standards in manufacturing; I used Minitab to evaluate processes in my Six Sigma coursework; I worked on my more modern engineering collaboration, communication, and leadership skills through my Tufts Gordon Institute courses;
My coursework included:
Solid Mechanics
Manufacturing and Materials
Robotics
Inventive Design
”Designing Physical Solutions for People in Need”
Applied Math for Engineers
Autonomous Systems
Lean/6σ
Business Communications
Leadership for Tech Professionals
A little more about me and my interests
I’m a tinkerer at heart, and have always disassembled mechanisms to either repair or just learn from them. I am interested in Robotics, renewable energies, and novel manufacturing techniques. I’ve always had a love of railroads which has evolved into a deep interest and hobby following mass transit and high speed rail system innovations, politics, and theory.
I have also recently become enamored with makerspaces and the collaborative, accessible making that they bring rise to.
Let’s Make Something Together
I’m always looking for new opportunities to make things and collaborate. Whether you have questions about me or my projects, I’m always more than happy to make time to chat with other makers, creatives, and innovators.
